Pictured for sale recently on a rugs-for-sale internet site is this Turkmen bag that is called Chodor in the offering:
We say “No Chodor, Senor”
The only thing Chodor about this torba is the misplaced dream of the seller.
There is not one feature typical for Chodor weaving present in this end of the 19th century ‘made for market’ but not yet ‘airport-art’ Ersari torba.
Making attributions is easy, backing them up is far more difficult and, by now, the fiction-writing rug dealer operating from Stuttgart, Germany should know that well.
