Topic: eBay Salor Torba

Hi Rk I recently noticed this Salor torba for sale on ebay, and was curious as to your opinion regarding age, authenticity, dyes, etc.. Is this the real thing? There are some close images of the back. Is this what a Salor weaving looks like viewed from the rear? The vendor discribes it as "Pre-1900",has a "buy it now" price of $ 1,850.00, and can be found at the link as follows http://cgi.ebay.com/Rare-Antique-Salor-torba-from-Turkmenistan-Collectors_W0QQitemZ140069670803QQihZ004QQcategoryZ73468QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem Dave

Hi Dave: Thanks for the tip. We just finished paypaling the vendor.

We always pay commission to anyone who steers us into a deal, so where do you want us to send you, yours?

OK Dave, now wake up and smell the flowers.

What do you think we are here for -- to answer questions from the peanut gallery to educate more competition? Go figure it out for yerself.

Just kidding again, Dave.

Here's the scoop. That "torba" is actually one that can be called Salor but the lavish use of synthetic dye renders it undesireable.Otherwise, you'd probably had never seen it.
