Today the following rug was offered on the internet:
As any observer, who has even one good eye and ocular nerve, can see it is a piece from exactly the same group as the one detwitless is offering.
Fact is this one is earlier and better, albeit a bit smaller and more fragmented.
However, its condition is not the point here --
The seller, from Italy, knows it is not a "Karapinar", and he places in a far more correct location -- east of "Karpinar" in the Karaman area.
The seller, by the way, is not a rug-genius or savant but compared to mallery he surely is.
Supposedly mallary is a 'Belouch' expert, which is something RK rightfully questions as well, more about that in a minute.
Regardless of our assailing mallary's knowledge of Turkish village weaving, which might seem unfair to some people, we have proven it is a non-starter given his dopey performance with his 'Karapinar'.
But RK knows mallary's alleged expertise with Belouch rugs is equally as specious and laughable.
Forget about an ounce, here's a pound of proof:
rare old 3' X 4.5' Belouch group(Timuri) offered for sale at a small New England auction in June 2010
Fact is mallary viewed the sale in person and then not only did not bid for it but he told a collector we know the rug had "CHEMICAL dyes".
This is complete hogwash.
How do we know?
RK bought it and it is now in our hands.
RK also personally spoke to mallary's collector friend who told us what detwitless told him about the piece.
So, does RK need to provide more proof of the tooth fairy story of mallary's supposed reputation as a Belouch expert?
By the way RK also heard another rug clown and fool of equal stature to mallary, assad khan, also viewed the sale and likewise told others the Belouch had synthetic dyes.
RK has never written, well that we can remember, about mr assad khan, as he is a truly a nobody in rugDUMB and someone who interests RK about as much as a dirt sandwich.
And here's the bell ringer -- RK paid 250 dollars for the belouch....yeshhh, rugDUMBers like mallary and khan are really lost in the sauce....might we say totally.
A last word on this: as many of you avid readers of RK know we are not a fan of Belouch weaving but when a wonderfully interesting, rare, beautiful and old (all adjectives that correctly describe this Belouch) appears in our sight we have never been shy to try and purchase it.
So anyone who believes RK has unjustly accused mallary had better reconsider.
Oh, one more comment: Many rug morons and clowns, like professor steev price and barry the former thief oconnell, have claimed being called out, rebuked, criticized and roasted in their own juices by RK is an honor.
Let RK firmly and justly abuse them of that ridiculous notion -- it is no honor, nor does it carry bragging rights.
And claiming it does shows even more idiocy and stupidity.
