Topic: Quote of the Day....

"When you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - When you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - When you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws dont protect you against them, but protect them against you - When you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - You may know that your society is doomed." --
Ayn Rand, "Atlas Shrugged", 1957

Nice reply, Kemalist.

Are we to assume you are a follower of Ata Turk's principals of republican government?

As for Any Rand's perceptive comments, remember the old expression: Give a hundred monkeys typewriters and eventually one of them will write a legible sentence.

Our comment is not to demean Rand's work but rather to state even if her novel is, as you imply, unreadable and therefore unimportant, part or parts of it can, and might, be important and prescient.

================

Jack, are we supposed to use as our (near)ultimate source of wisdom an unreadable NOVEL? Did you forget - novels are fiction?
