In private emails to michael franses RK has challenged him to debate with us in public on several topics he has written about and stated conclusions with which we totally diagree.
Readers of this website well know RK has ripped to shreds franses's positions on a variety of subjects, but the two we would like to see him try to successfully debate are his evidence-less positions on the Doha Islamic Museum 'animal rug', which formerly belonged to Heinrich Kirchheim among other owners, and the 'Kaitag embroidery myth' franses is and has been inexerably entangled for several decades.
RK is sure franses will ignore this public challenge as he has those we have sent him in private.
Of course RK realizes why -- franses knows he cannot possibly escape from a debate with us and have his totally bogus reputation as the leading oriental carpet expert remain intact.
His ridiculous myth spinning around the Doha 'animal rugs' provenance, discovery, history, age and identification is as questionable as his dating of Kaitag embroideries, their relationship to other transCaucasian embroideries and their place in oriental carpet studies.
We are equally sure if readers email him at any of the addresses below and question why he will not accept this challenge he might just be forced into accepting.
