RK has never particpated in any social media and we always thought of all the possibilities facebook to be the worst.
Recently that thought was proven 100 percent correct. We need not go into the gory details but highly recommend anyone with enough intelligence to tie their shoes in a dark room stay far away.
An old adage "Birds of a feather flock together" might best describe the type of person who becomes what RK called a facebook jockey. We imagine those active in the rug and textile parts are no different than other collecting areas.
The leaders, the experienced and the connoisseurs do not bother to waste their time yaking and yakking with the no names and nobodies who flock to facebook and obsess about unimportant irrevelant details, mine is better than yours, and other such mundane stuff.
Our experience was a complete and absolute affirmation of why we never before bothered.
The only reason we did was because one of our early Anatolian kelim became to topic of a months long discussion. We stupidly fell for the bait and immediately found ourself emeshed in a cesspool of idiot accusations and a lynch mob psychosis of RK haters and bashers.
When we demonstrated dennis the thief dodds's bellini caper and thievery he had the nerve to claim we only did it to sell LACMA our collection and did not want "competition" from him. What a crock of shit because dodds had already banked the check from LACMA before we ever entered the scene.
Not only is dodds a cheat and a liar but he is a conniving son of a bitch who deserves to be at the other end of a '45.
How that crooked creep has the gall to show his face in public is astounding. Greed knows no bounds.
Then there is michael bischof a German school teacher cum Anatolian kilim pundit. His punditry is not even good enough for professor steve price's rug sandbox turk0tek.com. RK drilled major holes in bischof's arguments but like dodds and other self possessed facebook nincompoops he pretended not to notice and kept on with his dissing RK each time we scored a bulls-eye.
And a small time dealer from Pennsylvania who went to live and try to deal rugs in Turkey, peter scholten, made the most outrageous claims that included stating his eye was as "astute as" RK's; and while RK might have been his teacher he, scholten, the might have been student had long surpassed him as all clever students do.
Sorry for you chief puny facebook pundit peter but you could not lick RK boots if you were standing on a tall ladder.
Oy vey and there was more but let's cap it off.
Facebook's 'warp and weft' discussion platform is a complete and utter amateurish watering hole for critters who can't make anywhere else. We seriously suggest avoiding the mistake RK made and better spend your time cleaning your garage or taking a nice nap.
